Mentor Leadership Training Course

You chose:

answer b "Barb, the problem is the AAC system you are using. You need to use a better system that will let you type faster. I’ll send you the address of the company that makes my system so you can get one."

This is NOT the correct answer.

Here the mentor does not remember to use the DO IT! strategy.

In this example, the mentor:

  • does not ask questions to help Barb her specific problem and describe why it is a problem
  • reacts quickly and suggests one solution without considering other options
  • does not encourage Barb to outline plans to solve her problem
  • provides advice in an area where she is not trained
